Believing the gospel also means that we now have full access to a supernatural realm that we never had access to before called the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God .
Remember what Jesus said?
The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
When Jesus was saying the kingdom of God is at hand he was actually inviting us to step back into a realm that we haven’t had access to since the fall of the first Adam.
Remember that Jesus was called the last Adam?
The first Adam walked with God and had complete access to the heavenly realm, but after Adam sinned what He once had full access to was now closed and no amount of His fleshly fig leaf religious effort could ever gain him access to what had now been closed!
But God had a plan to reopen what had been closed! and Gods plan wad Jesus!
Jesus the last Adam was able to (through his obedience) open up the door that had been closed by the first Adam.
As a matter of fact Jesus actually became the door! Jesus was the way back !!
When Jesus said "The kingdom of God is at hand" He was really inviting us all back into a realm that had once been closed to us.
But the only way to gain access is to Repent or (Rethink) and Believe the gospel.
Religion has taught us that heaven is a place that we go after we die, but what they have neglected to tell us is that heaven is also an eternal realm that we are invited back into in the right here and now!
The kingdom of heaven is at hand!
The word hand actually means to draw near and be joined to another.
We know that Jesus was in the world but was not of this world. Jesus said my kingdom is not of this natural world
Could it be that we have been blinded by religion, to what God has already given us full access too?
Me and my wife currently own a coffee house on the boardwalk in Myrtle Beach .
Every day before we open up the shop we make sure everything is ready to go .
We will often have customers, who are sitting outside waiting with great anticipation for us to open up the store, so that they can get their first cuppa Joe!
When everything is ready we then unlock the door open it up and say " Ok folks we’re now open come on in ! and of course they almost stumble over each other trying to get in..
But what if some sat outside and did not really believe that we were open ? or what if some believed that we would be open, but it would only be one day in the future ?
I wonder if God has been telling us for 2000 years that everything is now ready! heavens realm and access to all that is mine is now available to you, but because of religious deception we have been blind and deaf to what the Lord has already made available to us?
I wonder if we have believed a gospel that has put everything way off into a distant future somewhere over the rainbow, when in fact there is a present reality to what God has already made available to us ?
Inevitably every day we will have people that will come into our coffee shop and ask us how long we have been here?
We often tell them we’ve been here for many years and they will with great astonishment say “ I’ve been walking by here for many years and this is the first time I’ve ever seen you”.
Why didn't they see us ? Well maybe they didn't see us because they were so focused on other things that even though we were In plain view they didnt know what they already had full access to.
When Jesus preached the kingdom of heaven is at hand in essence He was saying " Heavens store is now open come on In!
Another great illustration is about the story of a football fan who was given a free ticket to the super bowl game.
The day for the big game came and the excited fan with ticket in hand went down to the football stadium. The fan then became so excited about having his ticket that he began to show everyone in the stadium parking lot his free ticket, well the problem was that the excited fan became so focused on his ticket and showing his ticket that he actually wound up missing the entire game !
I mean the ticket was actually given so that the fan could actually enter into the game and see the game.
We have often made forgiveness of sins and the new birth the end of the christian experience when in reality its just the beginning.
We get our ticket to heaven one day, but really the ticket is for us to enter into a realm in the right here and now.
