Jesus A Friend of Sinners

Religion is all about preaching against everything.

Its focus is always on sin and whats wrong  in the world today, instead of preaching what God did through Christ to make things right.

Jesus was a friend of sinners!!

This shocked the Religious crowd then and it still shocks the religious crowd today!

Many believe if you love sinners then you are somehow endorsing their sin..

If you Love the Homosexual then you are endorsing their life style.

If you Love the drunk then you are endorsing their drinking.

If you Love the Adulterer then you are endorsing their adultery..

If you Love the thief then your endorsing their stealing ..

No ! Jesus came to love on sinners and teach them a better way called Grace and the kingdom of God!

Jesus  wasn’t  Loving the sinner to endorse their sin.

Jesus was helping them to see and understand a better way.

Jesus didn’t come to bible bash people!

He  came to Love the hell right out of people!

Jesus didn’t come to condemn sinners but to save them !

I mean we were all born in sin! No one is righteous, but Jesus came to eradicate sin and make us righteous in Him!
2 Corinthians 5:21

Condemning the condemned is is like throwing a cinder block to a drowning man and then telling him to swim.

Jesus actually jumped into our world to pull us out!

He was basically telling all of us (the drowning man) to trust in him and cling to Him, He would pull us out! And transform us!

Remember the  prostitute with the alabaster box of ointment? She stood behind Jesus and just began to weep ! why was she weeping?

She was weeping because for the first time in her life, she was in the very presence of love and full acceptance!

What changed her life?

The Love of God changed her life.

The only thing that religion could see was a sinner, but what Jesus saw was a lost child.

Remember Zacchaeus?

The tav collector that everyone despised?

Jesus didn’t see his behavior he saw a lost son who needed to find true acceptance and love..

As Jesus acknowledged him, embraced him and loved him it transformed his whole life.

Maybe we should learn from Jesus..

Instead of bashing people with the Bible maybe we should instead love people as God loves them!

Maybe we should love others even as God in Christ has loved us ? forgiven us and made us complete in him
