Jesus our Advocate

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1 John 2:1-2

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

If we sin , not when we sin but if we sin .

This is what happens ..

Christ who is our advocate comes along not to condemn us, but to console us.

Christ doesn’t come telling us what an unworthy piece of dirt we are ! No!

That would be the other guy !

The other voice!

The accusers voice , not God’s.

God comes to console us because he knows our hearts are being filled with condemnation and the only thing condemnation does is to keep us bound to self centeredness , self judgment and enforce the lie that says God is angry with you so you better run and hide !

Remember Adam ? He ran and hid from the presence of God because of the voice of shame and condemnation..

It’s not God who condemns us, but our own hearts that condemn us !

But the good news is that God is greater than our hearts and knows all things !

God’s desire for us is not to be filled with condemnation, but confidence! Or should I say

God-Fidence !

And what brings about the God-confidence?

When we do those things that are pleasing in his eyes .. those things that put a big smile on God’s face .

and what are the things that God wants us to do ?

He wants us to believe that we are forgiven in Christ, righteous in Christ , complete in Christ and receive the love that He has always had for us from the beginning and to love others as He loves us ..

1 John 3:20-23

For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.

And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
