What are you looking at ?

What are your looking at ?

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said,

Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29

Religion is obsessed with sin, but shouldn’t we be more obsessed with Jesus who took away the sin of the world ?

Remember what Jesus cousin John said ?

Behold the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world.

I believe that John got it right ..

We should behold Jesus who has  already dealt with all sin.

Whatever we behold will manifest in and through our life.

If we are constantly beholding our  weakness , flaws and failures that is what will continue to manifest in and through our life .

That’s why we are told to behold or look to Jesus ..not sin, not our weakness, but Jesus ..

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,

and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2

Looking to Jesus is the key for us running this race with endurance. Jesus is our strength. Jesus is our hope and our life ..

The Holy Spirit just reminded me about this promise .

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,

But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:28-31
