Try your best to keep the Law?

Did God say " Try your best to keep the Law?"
Many preach that we are saved by grace through faith, but then we must try our best to keep the law, but God never did tell us to try our best to keep the law. No ! God said keep it all perfect or be cursed!
The Law is the Law and Grace is Grace ! which one do you want to be under?
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.
Gal 3:10
The Law was an all or nothing deal ! The Law was keep it all perfect or be cursed !
If you kept 99.9 % of the law and failed to keep only .1% of it then you failed !
Many who claim that we must keep the Law really do not understand what they are saying..
Christ died to deliver us from the curse of the Law and provided a much better way called "the new covenant of grace in Christ"
For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. Hebrews 7:18-19
Jesus fulfilled what we could never fulfill because of the weakness of our flesh.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:3-4
notice the righteous requirements of the law are fulfilled now in us, not by us as we as we walk by the Spirit .
To go back to the Law is to return to a curse and bondage that God has set you free from.
So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ will be of no benefit to you.
I’ll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey every regulation in the whole law of Moses.
For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive by faith the righteousness God has promised to us.
For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love.
You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth?
It certainly isn’t God, for he is the one who called you to freedom.
This false teaching is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough!
I am trusting the Lord to keep you from believing false teachings. God will judge that person, whoever he is, who has been confusing you. Galatians 5:1-7
Its pretty clear that anyone who implies that we go back to the law that we are now suppose to be dead to (Rom 7:4) is promoting false teaching and confusion. Keep your eyes on Jesus the author and the finisher of your faith

How does fruit abound?

By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 2 Peter 1:4-9

There is a lot in this scripture, but what things
was Peter talking about ?

Peter was talking about the fruit of the Spirit.

How does this fruit abound in our lives?

Does this fruit abound by us trying to produce the fruit? No !

First this fruit abounds by us knowing and acknowledging that the fruit of the spirit is something that we have already been supplied with in Christ.

We need to understand that when we were born again, not only did we receive God‘s divine nature but we also received the fruit of the spirit which is the very nature and character of God.

When the scripture tells us to add to our faith, virtue and to virtue, knowledge, it wasn’t telling us that we had to go out and get more of it, but that we are to recognize what God has already presently supplied us with .

The word add actually means a present supply.

To add doesn’t  mean to restock the shelves, but it’s more like taking inventory of what you have already been given!

We bear fruit by acknowledging what God has already put inside of us..

We also bear fruit by remembering that we have been cleansed from all sin .

We must understand that we are not in a process of being forgiven, but that we have been once and for all been forgiven from all sins.

As we Rest in the forgiveness that we already have in Christ then we will naturally bear fruit.

Knowing that we have been forgiven from all sin is essential to bearing fruit.

God does not want us to have a a sin conscience but a forgiven and a right standing with God conscience .

Another vital truth for fruit bearing is for us to understand that we are now dead to the law and now married to Christ.

Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another-to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. Rom 7:4
