The Gospel of your death.

The gospel of your death !

Did you know that the good news is much more than knowing that your sins have been forgiven?

The good news is also about knowing about a death that took place .

Your death!

What on earth are you talking about? My death?

Let's see what the scripture says about your death .

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Col 3:3

This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him.
2 Tim 2:11

The Bible clearly tells us that our old sinful self died, ( past tense ) it was taken out of the way, so now we are no longer  in sin, but we are now a new creation in Christ.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Cor 5:17

The old that passed away was in fact the old you or your old sin nature that once controlled your life.. when you received Christ that old you died , it was taken out of the way and a brand new you was re-created in Christ.

To be free we must agree with God to what has already taken place.

The gospel declares that you, that is the old you died and a new you was resurrected and is now hidden with Christ in God.

You are not the same old you that you use to be.

Galatians tells us that when Christ was crucified, we were crucified with Him!

Again this speaks about the death of our old self and the resurrection of our new created self in Christ .

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Gal 2:20

If your still not convinced about your own death, let's look at Romans 6

For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,

knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

For he who has died has been freed from sin.

In other words to the degree that we know, understand and acknowledge the death of our old self, will be the degree of freedom that you will then walk in.

Lets continue on in Romans

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.

For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:5-11

Again, notice the tense in this scripture is past tense. It says we died with Christ. It's done deal !!

This is something that has already taken place.

Religion promotes a dying daily gospel, but the true gospel of Christ simply declares that we died !

We also need to understand that the word sin in the above verse is not a verb or the action of sin, but a noun or the person of sin.

We are to reckon ourselves dead to sin or dead to the old sin nature that use to possess us and instead reckon ourselves as a new creation alive unto God.

You are no longer a poor old sinner saved by grace. You are a new creation alive in God.

You are no longer a slave to sin you are a child of God!!!

Reckon yourself dead to sin and alive to God and be free !
