Beholding the Key to Transformation ! By Rick Sarver

The Key to transformation is by beholding who God has already created you to be in Christ.

True transformation does not come by looking at your flaws and then doing your best through human striving or self effort to change yourself! No!  this will only lead to living a very frustrated Romans 7 way of life of " the harder I try, the more I seem to fail!" we need to understand that true transformation only comes by beholding who God has already created us to be In Christ and it comes by the Spirit of Grace as we rest in Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:14-18 For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.  But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The Law could never transform us, self effort cannot transform us, trying harder or becoming more self determined will not transform us, The only path to true transformation is by beholding as in a mirror the Glory of the Lord. As we behold in the mirror of (God's word) and believe who God In Christ has already created us to be, we will then be transformed from the inside out even by the Spirit of the Lord. We are transformed by beholding, not by striving.

It will be an Effortless Transformation. It will be a transformation by Grace.

When We Rest thats when God Works.  ( For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure (Phil 2:13)

So what is my part in all this? My part is to Receive,Rest, Rely and to Respond. As we receive  the abundance of Gods grace and the  free gift of righteousness ( Romans 5:17) and we Rest in who Gods says we already are IN Christ and we Rely on the Lord (who is at work within us ) and we  Respond to His Leading we will not only see transformation, but we will always be at the right place at the right time, every time.
Corinthians 5:17 Tells us,  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
What does this scripture say? If you are In Christ you are already a new creation In Him, the old is gone the news already come. God wants you to rest in this truth. You may not always look new in the natural or even feel too new, but make no mistake the real you is new! Never allow your feelings to tell you who you are! Your feelings will lie to you! Let God be true and every man a liar. Gods word is truth! and the truth will make you free! Embrace the truth of the new created you, IN Christ.
Proverbs 27:3  says as a man thinks in his own heart so is he. So how do you see yourself? What do you see when you look in the mirror?  Do you see someone full of flaws and failure? or do you see the glory of your king?   The only opinion that really matters in life, is the opinion that God has about you.  The Bible is more then a book it is a mirror!  The Bible is a mirror that reveals how God sees you, it reveals who we really are now in Christ.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

One of the main reasons we study the word is to show ourselves that we are already 100%  approved before God! We do not study to gain approval from God, but we study to show ourselves, that we are already approved  before God and that we no longer have to hang our head in shame!

All shame and all condemnation has already been dealt with at the cross. Jesus took all of our guilt, shame and condemnation, so that we could be at peace with God.

To rightly divide the word of truth is to understand that we are no longer under the old covenant of the law, but we are now under the new covenant of Gods wonderful grace. Many do not know who they are in Christ because they have failed to rightly divide the word of truth. Most in the church today are feeding on a mixed message of the old and the new, which has in fact rendered both ineffective. We cannot pour new wine into an old wine skin.

In the Old Covenant we did our best to change, measure up and to live for God, but in the New Covenant we do not live for God, God now lives in us! He is alive in us and He wants to live in us and through us, under the New Covenant transformation does not come by human striving, but it comes by the spirit of Grace. In fact our human striving just gets in the way of grace and it actually frustrates grace. One reason that so many lack maturity and fruit in the church today is because they keep trying to do by the flesh, what only grace can do.

I Corinthians 1:29-31  That no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

Under the new Covenant our perfection is in Christ. God has already made us righteous ( Rom 5:21) He has already sanctified us, He has already made us Holy and He has already redeemed us. Its a Done Deal.

One of the best things a Christian can do is to stop trying to become who God has already created us to be in Christ and start Resting. Today, begin to see yourself in the Fathers eyes! You are Complete In Christ, You are Holy In Christ and nothing will ever be able to separate you from the Love that the Father has for you In Christ.
(Romans 8:31-39)

Again, your transformation will come by  resting in and seeing who God has already created you to be in Christ. In Christ you are righteous, In Christ you are sanctified, In Christ you are redeemed, In Christ you even have the wisdom of God, again as you see who God has already created you to be in Christ, then you will be transformed from the inside out into the same image, even by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:29-31 That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
